Hare Krishna devotees are seen dancing while pulling a decorative chariot eight meters high during the Ratha-Yatra Carnival of Chariots in Kiev. According to mythology, the Ratha Yatra dates back some 5,000 years when Hindu god Krishna, along with his older brother Balaram and sister Subhadra, were pulled on a chariot from Kurukshetra to Vrindavana by Krishna's devotees. Ratha Yatra also referred to as Rathayatra, Rathajatra or Chariot festival is popular public procession in a chariot, celebrated annually in India and it attracts over a million Hindu pilgrims to join the procession. The central element of the walk is Ratha, a magnificently decorated chariot in the form of a dome, which the participants drag along the street with the help of ropes.
