Niantic is bringing “reality blending” to Pokémon Go, a new AR feature that will make use of its past experimental work with occlusion. Starting in June and on certain smartphones, virtual pokémon will be able to exist in the real world more realistically by hiding behind trees and other fixtures and having parts of their body obscured by other real-world objects.
