Bradbury Science Museum This is the aluminum outer case for a W80 warhead. It serves as a structural and protective container. Its mounting hardware allows it to be attached to a cruise missile. The Mod 1 (right) and Mod 0 (left) warheads are nearly identical. The mounting and installation hardware for the cruise missile bodies are different, but little else. W80 The W80 is the warhead used on the three types of cruise missiles in the U.S. arsenal. There are two modifications (mods): Mod 1 on air-launched cruise missiles launched from bombers Mod 0 on missiles, called Tomahawks, which can be launched from certain attack submarines sea-launched cruise
