Por um escritor misterioso
Descrição
Pablo Acosta-García is María Zambrano Postdoctoral Fellow at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. His current project studies the materiality, composition, and censorship of the visionary book of sermons by the Franciscan abbess Juana de la Cruz (1481-1534), whose ecstatic cancionero he has already edited. He was formerly Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow (2019-2021) at the Institute of Medieval History of the Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf (Germany), where he developed the project ‘Late Medieval Visionary Women’s Impact in Early Modern Castilian Spiritual Tradition’. His research interests include, but are not limited to, mysticism, devotional and convent literature, female preaching in the Middle Ages, the European circulation and translation of religious writing authored by women, and manuscript studies. He has published the first Spanish annotated translation of the Franciscan Tertiary Angela da Foligno’s Memoriale (2014), and has coedited Touching, Devotional Practices, and Visionary Experiences in the Late Middle Ages (2019). As well as being a member of the SR, he is also a member of the research projects based at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and of the international project ‘SORORES. Non-cloistered religious women in South Europe, 12th-18th centuries’ (École française de Rome / Casa de Velázquez).
